Question from a reader:
Although market seemed to have picked up as it touched 20k, but it now looks like it was just a hiccup. We can probably wait a little bit more to decide. But if markets went further down, how should one invest in stocks at that time? Should I invest in sell options of stocks? What are your suggestions?
My answer:
The very idea of looking at the sensex levels to decide whether to buy stocks or not is WRONG. Timing the market is impossible. Even God cannot time the markets.
The ideal way to make money in stocks is to buy good companies, systematically and stay invested for long time.
Selling options i.e. "trading" in derivatives is akin to gambling. It is NOT "investing".
So decide whether you want to be a trader or investor; prepare yourself accordingly and then enter the markets. Else you will be like many novices who come to the market and get butchered.
This is my sincere suggestion. I don't want to see you losing your hard-earned money in some foolish adventures with the market.
